Scholarship Eligibility
Before proceeding with the application the applicants must meet the eligibility criteria and admission requirements of the school.
- Either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with 180 ECTS credits from a certified school or college. In the event that you don’t yet have your college degree at the time of the application, applicants must demonstrate when they will get it on the portal application form. You should finish all of your undergrad scholarly coursework and tests before September 1, 2023, to register.
- Must have good communication skills in oral and written English. Applicants must meet the English language test score required by the school.

Application Process
- Submit an application for the MDS program at Hertie School
- Create an account in an online portal application and follow all the necessary steps, complete all the information needed. Keep in mind that incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Complete the online application for the scholarship provided at the official website of school.
- Submit an essay outlining an example of how data can be used to improve policymaking. Keep in mind that the essay must be specific in stating the fact about how would it help you better use data and what potential challenges you might encounter.
Additional Materials
As part of the application process, the students must submit the following:
- Updated CV which indicates the academic background, work experience, and voluntary activity.
- A letter of Motivation that explain the specific interest, the letter should be 500-900 words only.
- Academic transcript of records of all attended universities. If the transcript is not in English, the school suggests having it certified and translated into English. The hard copy is not required until accepted to the program.
- Copy of English language test scores.

Scholarship Awards
The Hertie School will award five fully-funded scholarships amounting to up to €36,500. Successful students must read and agree to the terms and conditions applied to the scholarship.
