Scholarship details
This scholarship opportunity is one that is aimed at helping students in Chad that are already attending the University of N’Djamena, The University of N’Djamena has an enriching history that was originally gifted by Dr. Marguerite-Marie Nigri who had a goal to help young Chad citizens. Any Chad citizen that wanted to earn a higher education would be able to based on the extremely incredible foundation that Dr. Marguerite-Marie Nigri curated to ensure students would receive no less than €5,000 in financial support.
This scholarship is available through the original foundation website that issues out the scholarship opportunities. The Work of the French in Asia and Africa has been offering this scholarship for a few years now and is now encouraging an offer of a 2-year style college opportunity to help build up the nursing and medical staff in Chad hospitals.
Eligibility
- This scholarship is available to young Chad high school students that are looking to earn a higher education at the University of N’Djamena.
- This scholarship is not for students that have already completed their first college year at the University of N’Djamena.
- Originally this scholarship was solely available to the children of hospital workers in Chad. However, this scholarship has extended out to all students interested in Nursing.
- Students must send an email using the email contact form through the foundation website to receive a scholarship form to send to the foundation after everything ahs been filled out.
- Typically, the student must submit a bio or a student statement letter describing why the medical field if their desired choice along with attending the university.
- Both male and female students are eligible to apply for this opportunity.
Requirements
The main requirement is that this is solely for Chad citizens and not internationals students. This is to help encourage more medical professions and for students to pursue a higher education in the medical industry.
When applying for admissions to the university students will need to present these documents and required information:
- Proof of fee payment
- Health insurance
- Family details
- Financial details
- High school grade point average and grades for each class
How to Apply
Students must be recently high school graduates that wish to attend the University of N’Djamena. Every applicant must have a great fluency with the French language since the classes are taught in French.
Students will need to have all of their correct information and family information ready to submit for the university admissions form. Family information income is needed to state if the student should receive the adequate amount of reward that is available from the scholarship option.
Reward – Extra Benefits
The official award amount is 5,000 EUR which allows for most of the academic year to be completely paid for and at times the half of the students second college year. The amount does vary depending on what the donation foundation can provide for students, however, the set amount is 5,000 EUR.
When rewarded, it is expected of recipients to give back to their community win it comes to pursuing Nursing or a related medical field. This mean recipients on to become a pillar of the community by working for a hospital and donating back to the foundation after they have finished their college education and have graduated.

The official deadline date follows the submission admissions date of the University of N’Djamena.
The official deadline date is the last admissions date for the University of N’Djamena and since the medical subjects do have different dates listed we encourage that students visit the university website to check those dates.

Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open submissions window if from the Winter of 2022 to the beginning to the 2023 school year in Chad. There is an estimated 5 months to send in admissions for the university so students can then receive an acceptance letter to send to the foundation to see if the student is the right fit for the scholarship at hand.
Annual or Renewable Scholarship Options
This is an annual scholarship had has been an annual scholarship since 2014. However, this is not a renewable scholarship option. This is a single award that a student receives once and then they must apply towards a different scholarship the following academic year.
