Scholarship details
The Chevening scholarship was created and presented by the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office along with other partner organizations. Students and citizens from Comoros have the delighted chance to win a one-year academic college tuition coverage for the entire duration for them to attend the United Kingdom. There are multiple universities involved and partnered with the Chevening foundation such as:
- Lancaster University
- University of Strathclyde Glasgow
- Bangor University
- University of Hull
- Nottingham Trent University
- Trinity College
- University of Westminster
- Universities of Wales
- University of Essex
There are many more United Kingdom-based colleges that are in partnership with this foundation.
Eligibility
- Students must be citizens of Comoros to apply for this scholarship.
- The students applying will need to be going into their Master’s level degree. This scholarship is for Master’s degree students only. Undergraduates will have to apply for a different scholarship.
- Three references or letters of recommendation will be needed attached to the application form.
- Students can be studying or pick any study program there is no preference over which subject should be studied.
- Students will need to present excellent academic records.
Requirements
All education documents and official papers will need to be turned in with the scholarship application form.
All individuals will have to be a citizen of Comoros who are now entering their first year of their master’s degree. This is a strict eligible rule, that means students that are undergraduates or Ph.D. are not a good fit for this scholarship.
References are needed for this scholarship process. That means each student needs to provide at least two references from two different individuals. The Chevening officials will not contact the reference individual if they have not completed or upload the reference. That is purely the job of the student to do.
Reward – Extra Benefits
The total reward for this is for a selected amount of students to win a full paid year of their master’s degree to attend a prestigious United Kingdom university. That means that as much as 40,000 euros of tuition and fees will be covered for the student.
How to Apply
The only way to apply is by using the original website for the Chevening Comoros Scholarship and click the ‘apply’ button. This application can only be submitted online along with all of the needed educational documents.
Afterwards, when the student has submitted then the student will be receiving updated emails consistently to keep the student’s informed. All students will be able to check their status of their application online through the application portal.
The interview aspect of this scholarship option is needed especially when the student is shortlisted. Students when they become shortlisted will be invited to attend an interview in Comoros. Specifically where the British Embassy is located is where the interview process will be held.
Open Submissions Window Time Frame
While the scholarship application deadline for 2023/2024 is currently closed, 2024/2025 will reopen in August 2023. This means that students who can apply for the 2024/2025 academic year, may do so.

Student Visa
International students will be able to follow a general guide that can be asked for at the embassy or online through a government website about successfully applying for a student visa without trouble. As of right now, applying at the earliest convenience is important.
The routine route is that if a student is applying for admissions to a university that is no located in their own country, they will need to apply for student visa. However, EU citizens normally can attend a different school as long as the country is within the EU territory.
