Scholarship Criteria
- Scholarships available for full-time postgraduate students enrolled in research programs
- Meeting entry requirements and receiving an unconditional offer from the University are mandatory
- Award commencement upon enrollment, lasting throughout the program’s normal duration
- University retains the right to revoke the award due to unsatisfactory behavior, performance, or program withdrawal
- Continuation of scholarship funding for year 2 requires a completed proposal defense, ethics approval, and initiated data collection by the end of year 1.

Bursary:
- Applicable Programs: Master by Research and PhD
- Mode of Study: Full-time
- Financial Support:
- Master by Research: 30% tuition fee waiver
- Ph.D.: 50% tuition fee waiver
- Award Criteria: Sunway graduates meeting entry requirements for Master by Research or Ph.D. programs
Scholarship:

- Financial Support:
- Master by Research: 60% tuition fee waiver
- Ph.D.: 100% tuition fee waiver
- Award Criteria:
- Sunway graduates meeting entry requirements for Master by Research or Ph.D. programs
- CGPA >= 3.5 or Merit (or equivalent)
Studentship:
- Applicable Programs: Ph.D. only
- Mode of Study: Full-time
- Financial Support:
- PhD: 100% tuition fee waiver including registration and resource fees
- Cost of living allowance of RM3,000 per month for 36 months
Criteria for the Studentship Awards
- Open to Sunway University graduates who fulfill entry prerequisites for Ph.D. programs.
- Minimum CGPA of 3.5 or attainment of Merit (or its equivalent).
- A singular published journal article, listed in WOS/Scopus, is attributed as the first or corresponding author.
- Eligible candidates participate in interviews, and the selection of Studentship recipients is contingent upon a competitive assessment.
Note: the Bursary awards wil only be offered for the Sunway Graduate from the Sunway Education Group in Higher Institutions. The scholarship award will be open to both Sunway and Non-Sunway Students.
Application Process
- Registered and check the entry requirements with the university counselors
- The online portal requires all applicants to create a log-in information to access the application forms.
- Check the required materials needed depending on the nationality of the applicants.
- Enroll in an online application provided by the university.
Required Materials
As part of the application process, the students must submit the following depending on their nationalities:
For Malaysian Students:
- Recent passport-size photos
- A certified true copy of the student’s academic qualifications
- A certified true copy of school certificates
The International applicants:
- Complete application form
- Health Declaration form
- Passport-sized photo
- Scan of passport copy
- Certified true copy of the academic qualifications
- English language test scores
- Residence application
Additional requirements wil be required for the international students and it is important to check all the materials needed to better support your scholarship application. Keep in mind that all application will not be accepted if there’s an incomplete documents.
