Scholarship details
The university has an enriching history that students will come to learn about while attending. International students are more than welcome to send an admissions application to see if they fit the eligibility and criteria being asked of students.

The University of Jaffna has been around since 1974 making the institution a near 50 years old. The higher education college is named after the exact city it is located within, Jaffna.
According to statistics reported in 2016 there were almost 8,000 students physically present on campus with well over 1,000+ staff and employees.
The university actually has five dedicated campuses which are named: Thirunelvely, Vavuniya, Ariviyal Nagar, Kaithady and Maruthanarmadam. Each campus does have a dedicated theme such as art, history, or engineering.
Eligibility
- All applicants must be attending the University of Jaffna or recently accepted for enrollment.
- All applicants must send in a scholarship application after they have received an acceptance letter from the university.
- If a student has a criminal offense or record they will not be accepted to this university, there are background checks.
- This is a public university in Sri Lanka that is open to all international and domestic students.
- Must be an art or science student pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- Both male and female students may apply, and there is no age restriction currently.
- This is a finically based scholarship for mostly orphans or refugees that wish to have their higher education tuition costs covered.
Requirements
Students that wish to attend the University of Jaffna must submit a student visa if they are in fact not a resident of Sri Lanka. A student visa can be applied for after receiving acceptance to the university. As a matter of fact, the acceptance letter will be used a proof for receiving a student visa.
Scholarship will be awarded to only an Arts & Science student.
This student must also be in need of financial assistance preferably orphans or refugees. All of whom will not receive any other possible endowment scholarship other than the government funding.

The application asks each student about their family and information that should be given in correct detail.

This scholarship is instated for a full tuition coverage funding possibility. All students that receive this award will receive the maximum amount needed to cover all tuition costs.
Typical tuition costs in Sri Lanka can be anywhere from $3,000 to $12,000. It does come down to what type of program will be taken and for a how many academic years. For example, medicine would be one of the more expensive tuitions to pursue while liberal arts would be one of the cheaper programs to continue forward with.
Deadline Time Line
There is an official deadline date of May 2023 that has an available download application for applying to the arts sector of the university. This would be the official deadline date to submit the actual application admissions document.

Open Submission Window Time Frame
Any time before May 2023 is the most acceptable time to submit applications both scholarship and admissions. However, students need to send in admissions beforehand if they are not already in enrolled.
There is possibility to receive a deadline extension which should be asked about before the deadline in within a month time frame from ending. This gives enough space for the university to cooperate with the student who needs extra time to submit their information.
Annual or Renewable Scholarship Options
This is an annual scholarship that cannot be renewed for a second year.
