Scholarship details
For international students who are interested to pursue their higher education in Lithuania can now start their application for the Lithuanian Government Scholarship. The scholarship can be short-term studies or full-time Master’s degree studies for the academic year of 2022-2023.
Short-term studies and full-time studies in Lithuania will give an opportunity to fulfill the international student’s educational journey in a fully-funded award to break the financial barriers that every student is facing.
Lithuania Scholarships
Study in LT wants to invite all eligible international students to pursue their higher education in a fully-funded award that can help every outstanding student to achieve their academics, professions, and financial goals.
The scholarship has 3 categories available for international students, ASEM countries and Eastern Partnership countries, Lithuania priority countries and other international students can apply for the following scholarship categories:
- Short-term Studies
- Lithuanian Short-term Studies
- Full-time Masters Degree Studies
Successful students can pursue their education in an accredited institution or university for higher education in Lithuania.
Scholarship Provider: Education Exchange Support Foundation/Study in LT
About the Provider
A non-commercial national support center and information for every student who wants to pursue their higher education in Lithuania. Study in LT is being administered by the Education Exchange Support Foundation, founded in 2007, and currently being responsible for supporting and implementing the Erasmus and the EU learning program.
Their aim is to let other country knows about the education system in Lithuania and the nuances of living in the country. Each scholarship application for the scholarship offered annually is being handled by the accredited university in Lithuania, visa for the international students to be able to further their education in the country is being granted by the diplomatic missions, embassies, and consular posts of the Republic of Lithuania.

Scholarship List Offered
Short-Term Studies
This type of scholarship is a short-term study in 1-2 semesters in Lithuania at an accredited university. A total of 25 students will be awarded in an eligible course program available in the list of Lithuania Institutions.
The autumn semester of universities and research institutions in Lithuania usually lasts from September to January and the spring semester – is from February to June. In order to arrange to study in Lithuania and obtain official approval for admission, applicants are advised to contact the International Bureau of the selected Lithuanian University directly.
Applicants Country Eligibility
The short-term scholarship studies will be available for the citizen of the following countries:
- Eastern Partner Countries: Ukraine, Giorgia, Belarus, Moldova, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
- ASEM countries include Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Brunei, New Zealand, Republic of the Philippines, Myanmar, India, Mongolia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Laos, South Korea, Kazakhstan, China, Cambodia.
- Priority Export Market Countries are the USA, Canada, UAE, Turkey, and the South Africa Republic.
Eligibility
- The applicants must hold an official acceptance or conditional agreement from the chosen university in Lithuania.
- Must be an eligible citizen from the mentioned country above.
- Must be commencing their higher education abroad upon receiving the offer.
- Good communication skills in oral and written English, knowledge of Lithuanian are required.

Scholarship Benefits
Successful students will be receiving the following awards:
- Monthly scholarship with a total value of 840 euros.
- The tuition fee wil be covered by the Republic of Lithuania
Lithuanian Short-term Scholarship
This type of scholarship is a short-term study in 1-2 semesters in Lithuania at an accredited university. A total of 15 students will be awarded in an eligible course program available in the list of Lithuania Institutions.
Applicants for Lithuanian short-term study programs must choose and design their study program so that at least 75% of the subjects are relevant to Lithuanian studies, which may include topics. such as Lithuanian philology, history, ethnology, linguistics, and other related studies.
Eligibility
- The applicants must hold an official acceptance or conditional agreement from the chosen university in Lithuania.
- Good communication skills in oral and written English, knowledge of Lithuanian are required.
- Both local and international students can apply for the scholarship.

Full-time Masters Degree Scholarship
The Education Exchanges Support Foundation is launching a call for applications for 100 Lithuanian state scholarships for full master’s or integrated studies (some equivalent master’s studies) at Lithuanian universities for 2022. Funding under the call will be provided to Armenian citizens, Israel, Japan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Israel, South Korea, and Lithuanian foreigners from outside the EU and EFTA.
Application Process
Initial selection phase: The candidate must apply through the online application system, all information about the application must be in English or Lithuanian.
Second selection round (only for those who have successfully passed the first selection round): The candidate must submit proof of completion of higher education or equivalent education (diploma and its supplement and its translation into Lithuanian or English) at a Lithuanian university. The Institute of Higher Education will provide the results of the evaluation of the applicant’s learning outcomes, with all other required information to the Education Exchange Foundation.

The deadline for the scholarships application is as follows:
- Short-term Studies Scholarships deadline is until April 29, 2022
- The full-time Master’s Scholarship Deadline is until May 9, 2022.
