Scholarship details
Currently the Hanken School of Economics is offering two premium scholarships to students currently studying at or alumni of GBSN member schools from developing countries for Hanken’s 2-year Master’s Degree Scholarship program in 2022.
The Hanken School of Economics is now a business school located in Helsinki and Vaasa, Finland. The Hanken School was established as a community college in 1909 and originally offered a two-year vocational education. Even today this college has remained as a community college and especially to inviting students who have come from developing countries from all over the world to attend.
Eligibility
Only for students who are from developing countries such as:
- Korea, Democratic Republic (North Korea)
- Kyrgyz Republic
- Lao PDR (Laos)
- Lesotho
- Liberia
- Madagascar
- South Africa
- Egypt
- Palestine
- Marshall Islands
- South Sudan
- And more
Requirements
Applicants must be going for or have already obtained a Bachelor’s degree in economics, so this can be for transfer students from a developing country. Students who are headed towards their Master’s degree in economics can apply as well. At least a total of thirty students will be chosen within the economic field to receive this scholarship.
There are specific language requirements which will be held with English and Finnish (since the university is in Finland arriving students will be required to at least know a basic level of Finnish.) And for English students will need to have a more advanced passing grade to be applicable.
Students will need to take admission tests to be submitted and enrolled into this university.
How to Apply
The requirements above hold a few details as to how a student will be able to apply. One is with an admissions test to see where the student stands with language tests and general academic scores.
Students will need to provide their CV or resume, along with two letters or recommendation (possibly a third will be asked for), as well as a letter of motivation from the student themself.
This university is regarded as one of the top in Europe, which means students will have a higher advantage at receiving a high paying job while still in school. This will also go on the CV which will be sent off with the application that is available on the website.
The scholarship application is an online only form that should be submitted online. There should be no printing out to send in via post.
All applicants must provide accurate and correct information, if a student submits an application and they are not from a developing country that application will be ignored. If a student is from a developing country then there application will be forwarded to admissions.
Reward
The reward is quite the advantaged one, where a student will receive full tuition that covers two years exactly. Along with enough living expenses to be covered that adds up to 8,000 euros per year. So a total of 16,000 euros to cover two years.
Deadline
The official deadline date is set for January 15, 2022. There is no other deadline date or any deadline extensions listed.
