The goal of the Fellowship Program is to increase the number of educated professionals who are working in the field of global mental health implementation science in East Africa and/or South and Central Asia. The Fellowship Program is the result of a collaborative effort between the Aga Khan University Brain and Mind Institute and the Harvard Medical School Department of Global Health and Social Medicine.

Postdoctoral research fellows in the field of implementation science in low- and middle-income countries are granted funding through the Program to conduct research on how to effectively adapt prevention, diagnosis, and treatment programs to fit the requirements of the local population. This knowledge can be used to improve health care for people living in those nations.

The institution is now offering classes in a wider variety of topics, including early childhood education, Muslim civilizations, journalism, and early childhood development, among others. In addition, degrees in public policy can be obtained from the university.

There are somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 different student groups and clubs, some examples of which are the class representation committee, the theatre club, the literary arts club, and the surgery interest club. Students at the university have access to a broad array of facilities and services, some of which are available on the Pakistani campuses of the institution, such as a clinical setting room for problem-based learning, an audio-visual learning center, and the Aga Khan University Hospital. All of these amenities can be found on the Pakistani campuses.
