The Chevening Scholarships are aimed at future leaders from around the world who want to undertake a one-year Masters in the UK.
The Chevening – United Kingdom scholarships are part of the United Kingdom government’s international study grants and scholarships program. It is funded by the Foreign Office, the Commonwealth, the Development Office, and various partner organizations. The Chevening Scholarship is an international scholarship that enables students with leadership abilities from 144 countries to undertake postgraduate study or courses at universities in the United Kingdom.

1. Chevening Scholarships for Master’s degrees
2. Chevening Scholarships for mid-career professionals.

What are the requirements to achieve one of the Chevening Scholarships – United Kingdom?
1. Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
2. Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your grant ends.
3. Have completed all the components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to enter a postgraduate program at a UK university at the time of submitting your application. This is usually equivalent to a UK upper second class 2:1 honors degree but can be different depending on the course and university you choose.
4. Have at least two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours) of work experience.
5. Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer of one of these options before the date specified.
6. Ineligible applications will be rejected, so it is important that you verify that you meet our eligibility criteria before you begin your application.
YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP IF
a. You have British or dual British citizenship (unless you are a British Overseas Territory citizen or have BN(O) and are applying from Hong Kong).
b. You have refugee status in a country that does not meet the Chevening requirements. Applicants who are citizens of a Chevening-eligible country and who have refugee status in a Chevening-eligible country are eligible for a scholarship.
c. You are an employee, former employee, or relative of an employee of Her Majesty’s Government, or have been in the last two years since the opening of Chevening applications (including British Embassies/High Commissions; Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy; Department for International Trade; the Ministry of Defence; and the Home Office), or a member of the staff of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
d. Employees, former employees, or family members of an employee of Chevening Partner organizations are eligible to apply, but if the employment took place within the last two years, you cannot receive a Chevening Partner Award from the organization you work for, previously worked, or are affiliated through relatives.
and. Have previously studied in the UK with funding from a UK government-funded scholarship.
F. Once submitted, applications are electronically screened against our eligibility criteria. Any application found to be ineligible will be removed from the selection process. Check out the list of common errors here. If you make these errors on your application form, your application will not be eligible. Please note that once you have submitted your application, it is not possible to change it retroactively.
