Australia’s first research center committed to helping all Australian children have positive digital childhoods, the Australian Research Council’s Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child was established in 2011. The center’s study focuses on children between the ages of one and eight. The ARC Centre for the Digital Child consists of researchers from six Australian universities, including Edith Cowan University. The center’s leadership is based in the Brisbane-based Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Researchers at the Center perform cutting-edge research that touches on a wide range of projects that are interconnected across disciplines. Children’s health, education, and connectivity are the focus of these research. They give evidence in support of these three pillars. The Edith Cowan University node of the Center’s ARC Centre for the Digital Child is presently accepting expressions of interest from anyone interested in pursuing PhD research there. A primary program area would be used for this research.
About the Scholarship:
The city of Perth, in the Australian state of Western Australia, is home to Edith Cowan Institution, which is a public university in the country of Australia. The university can trace its roots back to Claremont Teachers College, which opened its doors for the first time in 1902 and holds the distinction of being the first tertiary education institution in Western Australia. In the years that followed the founding of this college, a number of additional educational institutions, such as the Graylands Teachers College, the Western Australian Secondary Teachers College, the Nedlands College of Advanced Education, the Mount Lawley Teachers College, and the Churchlands Teachers College, came into existence. These two colleges merged in 1982 to become what is now known as the Western Australian College of Advanced Education.
This institution was established in 1982. This educational establishment was elevated to the status of “university” on January 1, 1991, and it was later renamed Edith Cowan University in honor of the woman who was responsible for its establishment. This university features eight schools, including the Business and Law School, the Arts and Humanities School, the Education School, the Medical and Health Sciences School, the Nursing and Midwifery School, the Science School, and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), and it provides students with the opportunity to take more than 400 classes in more than one hundred distinct areas of study.

In addition to that, this educational institution is home to a sizable number of research centers. Organizations such as the Centre for Innovative Practice, Markets and Services Research Centre, and the Markets and Services Research Centre all conduct research and development activities related to the intersection of business and society. The University of California, Los Angeles is home to a research facility known as the Center for Research in Entertainment, Arts, Technology, Education, and Communications. This facility focuses on research related to the fields of communications and creative arts. A research center that focuses on law and justice is called the Sellenger Centre for Research in Law, Justice, and Social Change. One of the workforce and health services organizations that contributes to the improvement of child and family health is called the Centre for Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Services. On the campus of this university, which also has a significant presence in the fields of environment and sustainability, are the Ecosystem Management Centre, the Marine Ecosystems Research Center, the Natural Resources Modelling and Simulation Research Group, and the Western Australian Marine Science Institution. Each of these research groups focuses on the modeling and simulation of natural resources.
The Exercise Medicine Research Institute, the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet, the Centre of Excellence for Alzheimer’s Disease Research and Care, the Exercise and Sports Science Research Group, Melanoma Research, the Systems and Intervention Research Centre for Health, and the Western Australian Centre of Excellence for Comparative Genomics are some of the programs that can be found on the campus of this university. This university’s offerings in the disciplines of security, law, and justice include, amongst others, the ECU Security Research Institute, the Sellenger Centre for Research in Law and Justice, and the Social Change Institute.
Mount Lawley and Joondalup are the locations of two of the university’s metropolitan campuses in Perth. Additionally, the institution maintains a campus in Bunbury, which is located approximately 200 kilometers south of the city and serves the rapidly developing South West Region of Western Australia. ECU, which was given university status in 1991, is well-known for its excellent teaching, student support services, and state-of-the-art buildings and equipment. In addition, ECU was the first college in East Carolina to offer online courses. Eastern Carolina University made it onto the list of the Top 100 colleges under the age of 50 that was compiled by Times Higher Education in the year 2022. ECU received the highest undergraduate teaching quality rating of all public institutions in Australia in the QILT (Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching) Survey in 2020. This achievement marks the fifth year in a row that ECU has held this distinction.
ECU was recognized by the Guide Universities Guide as having the highest possible teaching quality rating of five stars in the year 2022, making this the 15th year in a row that it has won this honor. ECU offers academic programs that give students the opportunity to acquire the academic knowledge as well as the practical, hands-on experience necessary to be successful in a wide range of professional careers. Eligibility for Scholarship.
- Applicants must have completed either a Bachelor’s degree with Honors or a Master’s degree by Research in a subject that is associated with the relevant program area in order to be eligible. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate research-level English language proficiency (where applicable for international applicants).
