About the Fellowship

Host Universities
Humphrey chosen host universities are chosen through a competitive application interaction to partake in the Program for a five-year cycle. The competitions are coordinated annually not entirely settled by fields of study. The determination depends on the university’s capacity to foster particular non-degree, interdisciplinary programs for a different gathering of 12-15 international Fellows. Both public and confidential foundations have taken part in the program throughout the long term.

Fellowship Program Component
- Professional Affiliation is a six weeks professional affiliation that will allow the successful fellows to collaborate with US Based organizations and share their skills and knowledge.
- Humphrey Seminar is one of the required courses where fellows will gain and help develop their goals and plan. This seminar will focus on the program objectives which moreover include a better understanding of the US culture, society, leadership developments, and networks.
- International Leadership Forum which provides an opportunity for the fellows to actively participates in activities that will help develop their skills and leadership.
- Professional Development for professional growth and expanding their understanding of global issues.
- Academic Enrichments the fellows will be placed in one of the 13 host universities and will be based on their field of studies.

Eligibility
- The applicants must be a citizen of the selected eligible countries for the fellowship program.
- Must be holding an undergraduate degree
- Must have a minimum of five years of full-time experience
- Can demonstrate their leadership skills and have a record of community or public service
- Must have a limited experience in the USA
- Must have good communication skills in oral and written English.
Keep in mind that applicants with previous job experience in the USA will be disqualified.
Application Process
Interested applicants can apply through the US Embassy Public Affairs Section or at the Binational Fulbright Commission in their home countries. The application must be completed with the following:
- An essay must be completed, all questions must be in the English language, and must thoroughly address the questions.
- Two letters of reference must be in the English language
- Applicant’s official transcript of records, keep in mind that the transcript must be uploaded by the applicants and valid documents. The transcript is required to have the list of courses and received grades. Diplomas can only be submitted if the transcripts don’t show proof of the degree obtained by the applicant.
U.S. Consulates and Fulbright Commissions should present their selections to the Establishment of International Education in Washington D.C. in early October. Choice of Fellows is declared in the Spring of the next year, and Humphrey Fellows start their program in the U.S. between April and September of that very year, contingent upon how much English language preparing required. Humphrey Fellows with lacking TOEFL scores might be expected to go to escalated English language preparation before the beginning of their Fellowship.

Application Deadline
The deadline to complete and submit the application is until April 23, 2023. The application deadline will also depend on the applicant’s country.
