The McCall MacBain Scholarships offered by McGill University invite local and international students to apply for the academic year 2024-2025. The application will be open on June 1, 2023, for the 2024 cohort, the university encourages all interested and eligible applicants to prepare for the scholarship application. Up to 30 fully-funded scholarships and 100 entrance awards will be awarded for the 2024 Summer/Fall admission to masters or professional studies at McGill University in Canada.

The McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill are Canada’s most extensive, leadership-driven scholarships for master’s and professional degree studies. The program unites different groups of researchers who seek to lead with reason – the people who have exhibited leadership potential and an inward drive to have a constructive outcome in other people’s lives.
The scholarships were declared in February 2019 by John and Marcy McCall MacBain, through a landmark endowment of $200 million. At that point, it was the single biggest gift in Canadian history. Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- You are an ongoing student on target to earn four-year certification or bachelor’s degree by August 2024
- You already earned four-year college education over the most recent five years
- You earned your first four-year college education quite a while back, and are 30 years or younger at the time of application in 2023
- International students whose first language is not English language must be able to have good communication skills in oral and written English and meet the minimum language requirements of the university.
- If you already earned your bachelor’s degree five years ago and turning 31 this year, you are still encouraged to apply for the scholarship program.
- The applicants must have a good academic background and must be able to meet the required GPA of the university.
Selection Criteria
The evaluation for the application will be made by the Scholarship Committee. There are five criteria for the selection of the candidates.

The proportion of academic strength isn’t restricted to a thin spotlight on GPA. While GPA is significant, they are keen on the fit with your proposed graduate program, as well as the broadness and the difficulty of the courses taken close by your different responsibilities. Obviously, they perceive that a few projects offer more of an opportunity for broadness than others.
Application Process
The application will be open on June 1, 2023, interested eligible applicants are encouraged to attend the information session. Application for the scholarship program can be accessed once opened in an online portal provided by the university.

The shortlisted applicants will be notified for a regional interview. The candidate who will be participating in the final interview will be selected for the scholarships and will be the one to receive the one-time finalist awards.
Scholarship Awards
The McCall MacBain Scholarship will be covering the successful student’s tuition fees and other related fees for their master’s degree program or professional studies at McGill University. An additional stipend amounting to up to $2,000 will also be given monthly during the scholar’s academic terms., summer fundings, and relocation grants. The scholars will also participate in a mentorship program, leadership development program, and workshops.
