The Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) and CQUniversity Australia have formed a partnership with the goal of increasing the number of Indonesian students who are able to earn a research higher degree from CQUniversity Australia in any of the fields that it teaches. The scholarship offered by the Ministry of Religious Affairs Indonesia (MORA) and CQUniversity Australia (Beasiswa Studi S3 Luar Negeri) is a component of MORA’s “Beasiswa Program 5000 Doktor,” which is a scholarship program designed to enhance the human resources available at Islamic universities. There is a possibility that you could qualify for this scholarship if you are an international student from Indonesia who is interested in pursuing a research higher degree at CQUniversity Australia.

In 1967, the Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) Capricornia was established in Rockhampton, eventually becoming Central Queensland University. Central Queensland University wasn’t officially named such until 1992. Its current name, the University of Central Queensland, was adopted that same year. In 1994, the name of the school was changed to Central Queensland University. The school underwent a rebranding and name change in late 2008, becoming known as CQUniversity. The university, which has over 30,000 students and is located in a rural part of Australia, is one of the largest in the country. Over 140 countries, including Australia, are represented among the international student body taking advantage of the excellent learning resources.
Rockhampton, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Cairns, Bundaberg, Brisbane, Gladstone, Emerald, Townsville, Noosa, Sydney, and Mackay are just few of the places where the university maintains campuses. Noosa, Sydney, and Mackay are just a few of the other options. This establishment also maintains a variety of research facilities for students to utilize. Aside from doctoral and undergraduate degree programs, the university also provides opportunities to earn certificates and complete shorter courses. The university offers courses in a wide variety of disciplines, including but not limited to the following: education, the humanities, accounting, the law, community service, apprenticeships, trades and training, psychology, health, the performing and visual arts, social work, information technology, digital media, science, and the environment.
In addition, the area is home to six educational institutions where young minds can learn and grow. Also, the institution works toward its research objectives through establishing partnerships with scholars and research networks all across the world. Around 600 paintings and other artworks from Australia and other nations are also on display here. The artworks are on temporary loan to other institutions like museums and galleries. The university is very pleased with its alumni base of over 100,000 graduates. Worldwide, the vast majority of its alums are already serving as leaders in a variety of fields. Some of the more famous alumni include director Wayne Blair, ABC Radio Brisbane breakfast host Craig Zonca, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, and Energex CEO Terry Effeney.

Eligibility for Scholarship
- You must meet the following requirements to be eligible for this scholarship:
- be a citizen of Indonesia and meet the qualifying standards listed on the MORA website
- application for a research higher degree from CQUniversity Australia, meeting the academic requirements for entry to CQUniversity Australia and being offered a place in the course, beginning full-time enrolment as an onshore international student at CQUniversity Australia (there may be an option to commence offshore in the first instance due to COVID-19 and current travel restrictions). During the application review process, we will take this into consideration.
- You must meet the following requirements to be eligible for this scholarship:
- satisfy the eligibility conditions outlined on the MORA website, be a citizen of Indonesia, and submit an application for a research higher degree at CQUniversity Australia.
- meet the academic requirements for entry to CQUniversity Australia and be offered a place in the course in order to begin full-time enrolment as an onshore international student at CQUniversity Australia (there may be an option to commence offshore in the first instance due to COVID-19 and current travel restrictions). During the application review process, we will take this into consideration.

Application Procedure
- Are you interested, and do you qualify? To apply, please visit the CQ University page on the scholarship.kemenag.go.id website.
- Find a research higher degree offered by CQUniversity Australia in a field that has a strong research presence.
- Complete an Expression of Interest, in which you will be asked to choose your course and location, as well as provide a brief description of the research topic that you intend to investigate.
- After your Expression of Interest has been reviewed and accepted, you will be given the contact information of potential research supervisors and invited to collaborate with them to submit an application for a research higher degree.
- Submit an application in order to study at CQUniversity in Australia. Please specify on your application that you have already been granted the scholarship if you have been given it prior to making your application for it.
- You can submit your scholarship application on the MORA website.
