Level/field of study
The sponsorship of the Petronas Scholarship is open to students who wish to continue their university studies in institutions of higher education as follows:
- Universiti Teknologi Petronas: Completing the Foundation Program 1 at UTP before continuing to the Bachelor Program
- Overseas Universities: Complete up to 24 months of the Pre-University Program in Malaysia before following the Overseas Bachelor Program.

Accounting, Actuarial Sciences, Computer Sciences, Economic Sciences, Law Firms, Mathematics, Psychology Statistical Sociology, APPLIED Chemistry, Engineering, Electrical, and Electronic Engineering, Electrical, and Electronic Engineering (Instrumentation), Geology / Geophysics, Materials Engineering / Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Software Engineering, Petroleum Geosciences.

PESP Scholarships value
The Petronas Education Sponsorship Program (PESP) is a fully funded scholarship and equally takes care of the student’s tuition, welfare, and accommodation.
Eligibility for the PESP scholarship
- Malaysian citizens aged 17-19 in 2022.
- Strong leadership skills and (demonstrable) active participation in extracurricular activities

- UTP: with a Minimum 9A- in SPM 2022, with a minimum A for the following subjects Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

- Overseas Universities: Minimum of 9A in SPM 2022, with a minimum of A for the following subjects Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics (for engineering courses) OR Minimum of 9A in SPM 2022, with a minimum of A for Mathematics (for engineering courses) non-engineering)

- For the PESP application, you will not need a processing fee.
- Notification of selected candidates for the PYD will be announced via this page. You will need the same username and password to log in.
