The Korean Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning offers governmental officials a tailor-made Master’s and doctoral degree programme related to the field of IT in developing countries. The key focus of the programme which was kick started in 2006 is to transfer know-how to future leaders in the sector.
Under the programme, the tuition fees will be covered in full for a master’s degree of up to two years and a PhD of up to 3 years. Additional benefits include offsetting living costs to the tune of KRW 1,500,000 per month, a national medical insurance and relocation expenses.
The scholarship is available to government officials, public institution employees or senior researchers at national institutes in the field of ICT in developing countries.
All applicants must already have a bachelor or master’s degree and English proficiency equivalent to TOEFL (iBT 83, PBT 560, CBT 220), IELTS 6.5, TEPS 599, TOEIC 720 or higher. The proficiency test should be taken within two years of the deadline for the online application.
