Swedish Institute offers the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals who want to further their master’s degree in Sweden for the academic year of 2023-2024. The scholarship aims to help the students pursue their higher education for their personal and professional growth.
About SI Scholarship for Global Professionals
Aiming to develop our future global leader that can contribute to the United Nations Agenda for Sustainable Development, the SI Scholarship encouraged students with leadership skills to apply and be one of the scholars with fully-funded benefits to pursue their higher education in Sweden. The applicants must have a bright idea of how education can contribute to sustainable developments in the regions and their home countries.
For the academic year of 2023, 250 scholarships will be awarded for the master’s degree education in Sweden. The scholarship is only intended for a full-time student in one or two years in the program. The scholarship will be funded by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Swedish Institute will open the scholarship annually beginning in the autumn semesters.
If you wish to be one of the scholarship recipients, you must be able to meet the eligibility criteria for the scholarship, complete all the required application processes, and submit all necessary paperwork on time.

Their main objective is to provide a positive tie to the organizations, other countries, and people while promoting more knowledge about Sweden.
The Swedish Institute aims to promote their country in as numerous ways as possible, this includes its digital and written content, providing funds for the Swedish Language, International education, and the promotion of the country as one of the best education providers. They support funds for joint projects and funds for exchange students, businesses, organizations, and people. In order to build good relations with other countries and their future leaders, they find more ways possible to obtain their primary goal. Offering scholarships, grants, and other opportunities to the future leaders of our generations.
Eligibility
- Interested applicants must be a citizen of the eligible country. However, it is important that the applicants are not residing in Sweden at the time of application.
- On previous experience, should have at least 3,000 hours of exhibited work insight. Likewise, you probably exhibited initiative experience from your current or past employers, or from common society commitment.
- The master’s program field must be aligned with the scholarships. The institute will also give priority to a certain subject field area which will also depend on the country or citizenship.
- Must have a good communication skills in oral and written English.
Applicants not eligible
- If you have already resided in Sweden for almost two years or more.

Young Professionals (SAYP), SI summer language courses, and Swedish Institute Summer Academy may still apply.
- Already holding a degree from a university or any institution in Sweden.
- Presently enrolled in a study program at any university or institution in Sweden
- Holding a Swedish citizenship or EU/EEA, Permanent resident or resident permit visa, or temporary residence visa.
Application Process
Eligible students can access the online portal application provided by the Institute. It is important to complete all the necessary requirements for the application including personal details and required materials to be considered for the evaluation of the application.

- Apply for the SI Scholarship for Global Leaders
- Screening and evaluation of the submitted application before the admission
- Notification from the university
- Final evaluation of the successful students
Required Documents
As part of the application process, the students must be able to complete and submit the following:
- CV (keep in mind that they only accept the SI template)
- Letter of References
- Valid and complete proof of employment
- Proof of leadership experience
- Passport copy or National ID
- Motivation Letter
The application form must be completed in the English language.
- The full tuition fee will be paid directly to the Swedish University
- Monthly Stipend of SEK 11,000 to help the students cover their living expenses

After the scholarship period, successful students will be part of the SI Alumni Network. As part of the alumni, they will be given unique opportunities to further their professional development and networks.
The successful applicants must read and agree to the terms and conditions applied to the scholarship. The scholarship award is non-transferable.
The scholarship will not be providing the following:
- Additional awards for the family members of the successful students
- Application fee for University admission in Sweden
- Changing the scholar’s study program, there is an eligible list of fields provided on the official website of the provider. It is important to check all the listed fields before applying for the scholarship.
- Allowing an extension for the scholarship duration period.
