Scholarship details
You are eligible for this scholarship if you want to make a difference in the world by working in the fields of international social work, development studies, eco-social work, or green social work, and if you want to contribute to the growth of your country and region. This scholarship, which was established and is being funded by the Iyabo Theresa Ogionwo Memorial Foundation, pays for the student’s entire tuition fee for the Bachelor of Science in Social Work – Specialization International Social Work program, which will begin in August of 2023. However, it does not cover the student’s living expenses.
About the Scholarship Provider:
The University of Gavle was established in 1977 and currently provides more than 60 different study programs in addition to second-cycle programs for its approximately 16 000 students. There are three hundred independent classes that can be taken in the areas of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and technology. The University makes a contribution to the effort of addressing many of the challenges that are confronted by our society by conducting inter-disciplinary research in four key areas: health-promoting work, innovative learning, sustainable urban development, and intelligent industry. Each of these areas is strategically important.
Our third-cycle programs are where the majority of our research is carried out, and this accounts for about 80 percent of our total output. The University of Gavle enjoys a picturesque setting next to the Gavle River and is conveniently situated so that practically everything can be reached on foot or by bicycle. It is conveniently located in the middle of the city and near the center at the same time. It takes around a quarter of an hour to walk from the railway station to our campus. The closest neighbors are the Boulogner Forest, which is a great urban park in Gavle, and the Business Park, which is where a significant portion of Gavle’s industry is concentrated under one roof. Both of these parks are located in Gavle.
The “Studentbostad Gavle” Student Accommodation Portal is a location for housing corporations and private persons to market their available rooms to students. You will be able to locate lodgings that are rented out by private individuals through the portal. There is no need to wait in line because the Student Accommodation Portal operates on a “first come, first served” basis. If you are a student looking for a place to live, the portal will provide you with useful information as well as helpful hints that will make your search go more smoothly. Svenska Studenthus AB is a provider of student apartments that have just been constructed. The flats are located on campus and come with their very own washing machine and dryer in addition to fully furnished kitchens.
Gavle studentbostader provides students with recently constructed apartments that are located just 200 meters from the university. The apartments feature kitchens that are completely equipped, complete with full-size freezers, as well as bathrooms that are tiled. The community housing company Gavlegrdarna provides reasonably priced student housing in several locations across the city. Their largest campus is located in the neighborhood Satra, and it can accommodate up to 500 students at any given time.
