Scholarship details
The Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations point the way toward a brighter and more stable future for all people. Through our Equity and Merit Scholarships, we hope to give young professionals in developing countries the tools they need to find viable answers to the challenges posed by these interconnected aims.
Individuals who have the capacity to make a substantial contribution to sustainable development in their home countries are eligible for Equity and Merit Scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to students who are academically outstanding and who have this potential. These grants are meant for students who, even with financial assistance, would be unable to attend Manchester University. We are committed to a principle of equal opportunity, and we evaluate each application based on their individual strengths and qualifications. We would like to see more applications from women in particular.
About the Scholarship:
The Victoria University of Manchester and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) merged in 2004 to form what is now known as the University of Manchester. The University of Manchester is located on Oxford Road in Manchester, England, in the United Kingdom, and serves as the institution’s administrative center. It is a public research red brick institution that takes its inspiration from the civic university movement that took place at the tail end of the 19th century. In addition to that, this illustrious establishment is a fellow participant in the Russell Group of Universities. [Citation needed]
In addition to programs that lead to degrees and certifications, the university also offers education at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels. The educational establishment had a total enrollment of 40,250 students during the 2018–2019 academic year, and it employed more than 10,400 faculty and staff members throughout its many locations.
The organizational structure of the University of Manchester is comprised of three faculties, each of which is further subdivided into schools that are tasked with the responsibility of teaching a particular curriculum. The Faculty of Biology, Medicine, and Health is comprised of this university’s School of Biological Sciences, School of Medical Sciences, and School of Health Sciences. These three schools make up the Faculty of Biology, Medicine, and Health. The School of Natural Sciences and the School of Engineering are the two individual schools that make up the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto. At Manchester University, the Faculty of Humanities encompasses not only the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures but also the Schools of Combined Studies, Education, Environment and Development, Architecture, Law, Social Sciences, and the Manchester Business School. In addition, the Faculty of Humanities also includes the Manchester Business School.
It is common knowledge that the University of Manchester Students’ Union is the largest students’ union in the country. The University of Manchester Students’ Union is the most prominent student group at the university. The student union was established as a result of a collaboration between the University of Manchester Union and the UMIST Students’ Association. This ultimately resulted in the formation of the student government union. One of the distinguishing features of the Union is that it does not have a president but rather is directed by an administrative committee made up of eight individuals who work toward the enhancement of the organization. Their primary objective is to make the Union a better organization.
Students are provided with a large number of wellness facilities, and it is strongly encouraged that they participate in extracurricular sporting activities outside of the classroom. These amenities are located at the Manchester Aquatics Centre, the Sugden Sports Centre, the Wellbeing Rooms on campus, and the Armitage Sports Centre in Fallowfield. The Sugden Sports Centre and the Manchester Aquatics Centre are located in the city, and the Armitage Sports Centre is located in Fallowfield.
Students at the University of Manchester have access to a robust support network, counseling services, free sports and well-being activities, and workshops for developing academic and personal skills such as time management, essay writing, and referencing. All of these resources are provided free of charge. All of these factors are important contributors to the university’s dedication to holistic growth and development. At the University of Manchester, the concept of social responsibility is given a great deal of weight and consideration. In addition to the numerous opportunities for students to volunteer in and around the city, there is also an event called the Ethical Grand Challenge, which serves as a forum for students to collaborate with one another in order to find solutions to the challenges that are currently being faced by the world.
