For the first time ever in Africa, a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in International Trade and Investment Law is available. The University of Cape Town offers a degree in this subject area in its undergraduate and graduate programs. It will build an African-focused higher education and training program with full access to the global business and investment sector in Africa. Pretoria’s University of Pretoria and the University of the Western Cape (UWC) have teamed up to offer the degree in conjunction with Makerere University in Uganda, American University Washington College of Law in Washington D.C. and the Universities of Amsterdam and Erasmus in the Netherlands. The Centre for Human Rights oversaw its creation, and it is now presenting it to the public.
Starting in 2017, the University of Pretoria’s Centre for Human Rights in the Faculty of Law has announced that its prestigious LLM program in International Trade and Investment Law for Africa would begin in January rather than July. Beginning in 2017, this new policy will be in force. Changes in international trade and investment law, such as the growing body of case law, prompted this revision to the LLM curriculum. Regulation of commercial activities and adherence to human rights norms on a global scale As well as a growing awareness of the social and environmental responsibilities that businesses have.
For this reason, students in the LLM program will now be able to interact with those in other master’s programs at the Centre for Human Rights, which will allow them to gain a better understanding of the shifting perspectives on business’s role in protecting workers’ rights, the environment, and society as a whole. International approaches to human rights, social and environmental obligations of businesses, and their significance for international attorneys will be better understood by LLM students in this curriculum.

The world now has an image of a black hole as a result of their efforts, which are greatly appreciated. UP is the first university in Africa to collaborate with projects for science, innovation, Territories, and economy, and it is also the first university in the globe to collaborate with the Montpellier University of Excellence. It has been stated that the University of Pretoria (UP) is the first university in Africa to utilize the customer service robot that UP owns. The University of the Free State (UP) in South Africa is home to the very first Library MakerSpace in the country. This is a creative laboratory that pairs people who have ideas with those who have the technical skills to make those ideas a reality. Scholarship Offer:

Eligibility for Scholarship.
- This is an interdisciplinary course that takes place over the course of a year and requires full-time participation.
- The program is broken up into two separate terms called semesters. The first semester of the academic year consists of the students participating in an intensive program of course work that was devised just for them. The formal requirement for the students in the second semester is to compose a shorter version of a dissertation.
- Applicants are expected to have strong academic qualifications and an interest in both international trade law and investment law.
