About the Scholarship:
The University of Queensland (UQ) is regarded as one of the most prestigious educational and research institutions in Australia. Our mission is to achieve excellence via the generation, maintenance, dissemination, and utilization of knowledge. For almost a century, we have been educating exceptional individuals and collaborating with them to provide knowledge leadership for the purpose of making the world a better place.
The majority of the state of Queensland’s highest academic achievers, as well as the best students from other states and countries, choose to attend the University of Queensland due to its strong emphasis on teaching excellence, which has earned it the most Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) of any other institution in the country.
The Student Employability Centre provides students with the opportunities, choices, and support that will enable them to realize their particular objectives, to become leaders in the sectors in which they have chosen to work, and to have a good impact on the society in which they live. In addition to having a choice in the academic programs they enroll in, students have access to a plethora of extracurricular activities during their time at the university. These activities include studying abroad, taking part in academic conferences and other research opportunities, joining one of the more than 220 student organizations on campus, and utilizing a variety of athletic and cultural facilities.
The University had over 55,300 students enrolled in 2019, with 16,000 of those being international students hailing from 134 different countries. UQ will celebrate the graduation of its 15,400th PhD student in 2020, making it one of the largest providers of postgraduate education in Australia. UQ now has more than 18,600 postgraduate students. UQ is always looking for new, inventive ways to encourage student retention and employability, and they put these ideas into practice as they find them. We collaborate with students to develop innovative programs that will improve the overall quality of the educational experience for all students as we work toward attaining our strategic goals.
Our dedication to providing exceptional educational opportunities and results for our students is unwavering. UQ is well-known throughout the world for its ability to effect positive change by providing knowledge leadership geared at making the world a better place. We are working to alter both the perception of and the actual experience of higher education. Our students have access to cutting-edge learning settings, as well as a variety of learning options that are flexible and innovative, as well as opportunity for diverse and dynamic partnerships.
You will have the opportunity to take part in a thriving community that includes more than 54,000 students studying at one of the University of Queensland’s three campuses located in South East Queensland. More than 20,700 postgraduate students and about 20,300 international students hailing from 145 countries make up our student body, each of whom contributes to the vibrant, inclusive, and supportive community that exists on our campus. UQ is committed to providing students with the best opportunities and practical experiences, empowering them with transferable knowledge and skills to exceed expectations throughout their careers. With a strong emphasis on teaching excellence, UQ has won more national teaching awards than any other Australian university. UQ is also committed to providing students with the best opportunities and practical experiences.
The 280,000 people who have graduated from the University of Queensland are part of an active network of worldwide alumni that spans more than 170 countries and includes more than 15,400 PhDs. An interdisciplinary community of 1,500 scientists, social scientists, and engineers are drawn to the University of Queensland (UQ) by its six faculties, eight internationally renowned research institutes, and more than one hundred research centers. These individuals uphold UQ’s long-standing tradition of research leadership. Gardasil®, the vaccine against cervical cancer; Triple P – the Positive Parenting Program; world-leading MRI technology; finding the novel disease HBSL; and developing microalgae as a green-power biofuel are some of the highlights of our research. UQ is also the first major institution in the world to be powered entirely by renewable energy; its 125 million Australian dollar solar farm is the source of this energy. Additionally, it is a founding member of the Group of Eight (Go8), one of the only three Australian universities to be members of Universitas 21, and one of only three Australian universities to be charter members of the global edX consortium for massive open online courses (MOOCs).
Students are better prepared to develop fascinating jobs as a result of our research, work-integrated learning, and connections. You are welcome to take part in our employability award program, as well as our career resources and events where you can network with other people. In addition, students have the opportunity to study abroad at one of more than 150 partner universities located in 34 different countries, and they have access to more than 220 intellectual, athletic, and social organizations and societies.
