Students who are enrolling in one of the University of Queensland’s qualifying postgraduate Master’s programs are eligible to apply for the UQ Economics PG Coursework Scholarship for Indigenous Students, 2022. Students who come from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communities will be eligible for this scholarship, which will allow them to further their education in economics at the postgraduate level with our organization.

About the Scholarship:

It is generally agreed upon that the University of Queensland (UQ) is among the most distinguished educational and research institutions in all of Australia. Our goal is to attain excellence by producing new knowledge, preserving existing knowledge, sharing new knowledge, and using existing knowledge. We have been teaching great people and working in collaboration with them to create knowledge leadership for almost a century now, with the goal of making the world a better place via the application of this knowledge. Because it places such a strong emphasis on teaching excellence, the University of Queensland has received more Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) than any other institution in the country. As a result, the majority of the highest academic achievers in the state of Queensland, as well as the best students from other states and countries, choose to attend this university.

Students are given the opportunities, choices, and support by the Student Employability Centre that will allow them to realize their specific goals, to become leaders in the fields in which they have chosen to work, and to have a positive impact on the society in which they live. These are all things that the Student Employability Centre strives to accomplish. During their stay at the university, students are given the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities in addition to having the freedom to select the academic programs in which they wish to enroll. Studying in another country, participating in academic conferences and other research opportunities, becoming a member of one of the more than 220 student organizations on campus, and making use of the many different athletic and cultural facilities on campus are all examples of these types of activities.

In 2019, the university had a total enrollment of about 55,300 students, 16,000 of them were considered to be international students coming from a total of 134 different countries. In the year 2020, the University of Queensland will celebrate the graduation of its 15,400th PhD student, making it one of the largest institutions in Australia to offer postgraduate education. There are currently more than 18,600 postgraduate students enrolled at UQ. UQ is continuously on the lookout for novel and creative approaches to bolster student retention and employability, and as they discover new ideas, they put those ideas into action immediately. As we work toward achieving our strategic goals, we work together with the students to develop creative new programs that will improve the overall quality of the educational experience for all students. This helps us get closer to achieving our goals.

Unyielding is our commitment to delivering unparalleled educational opportunities and accomplishments to each and every one of our pupils. It is well known across the globe that the University of Queensland has the capacity to affect positive change by offering knowledge leadership that is aimed toward making the world a better place. We are aiming to change not only how people think about higher education but also how it is actually experienced by students. Our students have access to state-of-the-art learning environments, a choice of learning options that are flexible and inventive, and the potential for diverse and dynamic cooperation opportunities.

You will have the opportunity to become a contributing member of a dynamic community that is comprised of more than 54,000 students who are attending classes at one of the three campuses of the University of Queensland that are located in South East Queensland. Our student body is comprised of more than 20,700 postgraduate students and about 20,300 international students hailing from 145 countries. Each of these students contributes to the lively community that exists on our campus by being inclusive, welcoming, and supportive of one another. UQ is committed to giving students with the best opportunities and practical experiences, which will equip them with information and skills that are transferrable across their careers and enable them to exceed expectations. Since the University of Queensland places such a significant focus on the quality of its instructors, it has been recognized with more national teaching awards than any other Australian university. Additionally, UQ is dedicated to providing students with the most excellent chances and hands-on experiences possible.

There are more than 15,400 PhDs within the University of Queensland’s active network of international alumni, which is comprised of the 280,000 persons who have graduated from the University of Queensland. This network encompasses more than 170 countries. Because it has six colleges, eight internationally renowned research institutions, and more than one hundred research centers, the University of Queensland (UQ) is home to an interdisciplinary community of around 1,500 scientists, social scientists, and engineers. These individuals continue the long-standing history of leadership in research that UQ has maintained. The vaccine against cervical cancer known as Gardasil®, the Positive Parenting Program known as Triple P, world-leading MRI technology, the discovery of a new disease known as HBSL, and the development of microalgae as a green-power biofuel are some of the highlights of our research. The University of Queensland is also the first major institution in the world to be totally powered by renewable energy; the solar farm that cost 125 million Australian dollars is the source of this electricity. In addition, it is a charter member of the Group of Eight (Go8), one of only three Australian universities to be a part of Universitas 21, and one of only three Australian universities to be charter members of the global edX consortium for massive open online courses. All of these accolades were bestowed upon the institution when it was established (MOOCs).
