Scholarship details
The Western Kentucky University community is dedicated to broadening possibilities and expanding access to higher education throughout the United States. They want to improve the quality of life for individuals who are within their sphere of influence, and part of that effort is appreciating our diversity and offering support to a student body that reflects that variety. As a means of contributing to the goal at hand, they established the Tuition Incentive Program International (TIPI) Scholarship.
About the Scholarship Provider:
Since its founding in 1911, Western Kentucky University has served as a public educational institution that welcomes students of both sexes. It is located in Bowling Green, which is the third largest city in the state.
Originally founded in 1906 as Western Kentucky State Normal School, the institution that would later become Western Kentucky University was given that name in 1966. The Southern Normal School, Ogden College, and the Bowling Green College of Commerce were all absorbed into WKU over the course of its history.
The institution provides instruction in in excess of two hundred different fields. At the undergraduate level, nursing, primary education, management, and biology are the most popular majors. Nevertheless, the most common postgraduate majors are recreation and sport administration, organisational leadership, speech-language pathology, and educational leadership.
Bowling Green is located around 110 miles south of Louisville, which is the capital of the state and hosts the Kentucky Derby, the most prestigious horse race in the United States. It is located 60 miles north of Nashville and 30 miles north of the state line that divides Tennessee and Kentucky.
WKU also offers three regional campuses located around the state of Kentucky. These campuses, located in Glasgow, Elizabethtown-Fort Knox, and Owensboro, combine to account for more than 15% of the total student body at the university. Owensboro is located 70 miles to the north-west of the main campus, Glasgow is located 30 miles to the west of the main campus, and Elizabeth is located in the middle of Bowling Green and Louisville.
Some of Western Kentucky University’s many graduates include the main singer of the London-based rock band Cage The Elephant, Michael Rosenbaum, the actor who played Lex Luthor in the Superman TV series Smallville, and Claire Donahue, a swimmer who won a gold medal at the London 2012 Olympics.
