The application for Yenching Academy Scholarship is now open and offered for both local and international students for the academic year of 2024. The scholarship encourages outstanding local and international students to submit their applications and pursue their master’s degrees in relevant fields offered by Peking University in China.
Peking University provides a fully-funded scholarship that can help the students achieve their academic and career goals. Yenching Academy Peking University annually admits around 120 fresh scholars hailing from both China’s mainland and various international destinations. These students come together to engage in a shared journey of education, coexistence, and enrichment. A significant majority, roughly 80%, of the academy’s student populace represents the international community.

The scholars are granted the flexibility in structuring their academic pursuits, enabling them to handpick courses from a selection of six distinct research domains. Scholarship Eligibility
Before proceeding with the application the students must meet the eligibility criteria of the scholarship.
- Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date no later than August 31, 2024.
- Exceptional academic performance and achievements.
- Demonstrated keen enthusiasm for delving into an interdisciplinary exploration of China.
- Impressive history of extracurricular accomplishments, active community involvement, social commitment, and evident leadership qualities.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Note: Enrollment in additional degree programs alongside studies at Peking University is not permitted according to the university’s policy
Language Requirements
- International candidates who are native English speakers or have completed a degree program (undergraduate or higher) in English are exempt from submitting an English proficiency test report.
- Candidates from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan (HMT) are obligated to provide an English proficiency test report, regardless of their attendance or graduation from an English-taught program. Failure to do so will necessitate undertaking an English as a Second Language course post-enrollment at Peking University.

Application Process
The application can be accessed in an online portal provided by the university, Each applicant is required to create an account at the Yenching Academic Admission portal and submit the required documents needed to support the application.

Scholarship Deadline
The deadline to complete and submit the application for the academic year of 2024 is until December 3, 2023. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered, the university encourages al eligible students to apply as early as possible to better complete all the necessary documents needed for the application.
