Who can Apply for the Scholarship?
Eligibility for the application is open to students intending to enroll or already enrolled in a Degree program at the University of Pisa, as long as they do not possess a qualification of an equivalent level of education.
Application and Required Documents for Different Nationalities
The application form can be accessed in an online portal provided by the university. All applications can be submitted even if the students are not yet enrolled, but it must be repeated each academic year since the grant is valid for one academic year only.
International Students Application Guide:

- Foreign students must fill out the online application form as per the website’s procedure.
- Students with a scholarship in the 2022/2023 academic year applying for the same education level in 2023/2024 do not need to resubmit income documentation; they only need to fill out the online form and state their financial situation remains unchanged.
- Translated and legalized documents must be attached to the application for certain cases, such as foreign students without a scholarship in 2022/2023 or those applying for specific degree courses.
Developing Country Students
- Certification from the Italian representation in the student’s country of origin, stating that the student does not belong to a family with high income and social status.
- Certification from the Diplomatic Authority (Embassy or Consulate) of the student’s country in Italy, stating that the student does not belong to a family with high income and social status.
- Keep in mind that all certificates must be legalized.
Students From EU Countries
All documents must be translated into Italian and be legalized by the Italian Diplomatic Authority. The applicants must fill out an appropriate declaration after completing the online applications.
Other Non-EU students must provide the following documents, translated into Italian and legalized by Italian diplomatic representatives of their home country or following international legalization provisions:
- Family status documents
- Income documents
- Real estate documents
- Movable assets documents
Application Deadline of Submission
The annual call for the application is every month of July, the deadline to complete and submit all documents is until September 6, 2023.
DSU Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship will be providing the following:
- Accommodation
- Free meals at the University Dining Hall
- Extra fees covering the books, sports activities, and other related fees
- Tuition fees
Note: The DSU Scholarship Holders will also benefit from other grants allocated only in their first year amounting to €6,000.
