Scholarship details
To give back to the active GSIS clients, the government agency has set up a program which targets the lowest annual income earners in the government salary scale to back their children in studying in the colleges and universities known for their quality education they offer to learners.
Eligibility criteria for scholars under the program are listed below:
- Children whose parents are members of the GSIS may be selected to avail the grant if they are enlisted as incoming first-year college students in learning institutions recognized by the Commission on Higher Education
- Habitual active members of the GSIS whose salary grade falls in 24 or less, or its counterpart job level
Habitual active members at the moment of application with premium contributions for the past six (6) months and are stable employees in government offices who has served for not less than three (3) years.
For validation process, the applicant is required to submit to GSIS a certification declaring the member’s employment along with the certification stating the acceptance of the designated learning center to the applicant as an incoming first-year college student.
Scholars under the program will receive a full tuition fee waiver with miscellaneous fees not greater than Php200,000.00 per term which does not include summer classes but may take account of trimesters given that the course is done within the actual duration prescribed by the university/college for the specific course. Besides that, a monthly allowance amounting to Php2,000.00 is granted to the recipients of the program.
