Eligibility: Who should apply for the Indian Institute of Science Awards in India, 2022-2023?

To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Students receive scholarships/scholarships from the date of entry to the Institute. 
  • All students joining the Institute (except the M Mgt program) are eligible for CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/AICTE/DAE(NBHM)/DST Scholarships/Scholarships as the case may be.
  • Candidates admitted to M Mgt are not entitled to any scholarship. Awards from GE, INFOSYS, IBM, HP, TATA, PHILIPS, BELL LAB, MICROSOFT, Department of Electronics, and Information Technology are available to deserving students.
  • Awards are given for a full 2-year term in the case of M Tech and five years in the case of a Ph.D. from the start date of the session.
  • Candidates receiving a salary from their employers/sponsors are not eligible for any scholarships.
  • Students who join the M Tech/M Des programs agree, by default, that they will not drop out of the course midway through. In the case of unavoidable reasons/situations, they will have to repay the full amount of the scholarship withdrawn before leaving the Institute.
  • Candidates admitted to the master’s degree in management are not entitled to any scholarship.

Admission Requirements: To be accepted to any degree program, applicants must meet the university entrance requirements.

Language Requirement: It is desirable that winning entrants have a good command of the English language.

In addition, immediately after entering the Institute, students must send the admission report within 15 days to the respective corresponding agencies for the activation of their scholarships.

Said students are entitled to the payment of the scholarship from the date of sanction of the respective agencies. IISc provides MHRD scholarships/scholarships for selected students whose mode of entry is GATE/JEST/JAM and qualified ME/M Tech/M Sc (Engg).

How difficult is it to get into IISc?
