About International Medical University Scholarships
The scholarships are available to pursue pre-university and undergraduate programs for the 2023-2024 academic year.

International Medical University Undergraduate Scholarships are awarded in the following fields of study: Medicine, Chiropractic, Psychology Chinese Medicine, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Biotechnology, Dietetics with Nutrition, and Nutrition.
Pre-college degree fields include Medicine Pharmacy, Chiropractic, Chinese Medicine, Psychology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Biotechnology, Nursing, Dietetics with Nutrition, and Nutrition.

Awarded annually, the International Medical University Scholarships are in the form of a tuition waiver.

Scholarships Available
- Scholarships range from RM 2,000 – RM 6,000.
- Candidates must achieve in at least 3 subjects of Science (Math, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry) and English to be eligible for the FiS scholarship.

Undergraduate Scholarships:
The International Medical University (IMU) has introduced a scholarship program for 2023. Scholarships will now be available for most IMU programs. There will be two types of scholarships available:
- Full tuition fee (100%) for the entire duration of the program.
- Partial registration fee (50%) during the entire duration of the program.
Scholarship Location
International Medical University Scholarships can be taken at some selected universities in Malaysia.
Eligibility Requirements:
The following criteria must be met for applicants to be eligible for the International Medical University Scholarships:
Foundation Scholarships in Science (FiS):
- The scholarships are only open to all local and international students who have completed the SPM or O-Level qualification in the immediately preceding year before admission at IMU.
- Example: If the student applies for admission in 2023, they are only eligible to be considered for the scholarship if they completed SPM or O-Level in 2020 and met the scholarship requirements. There must be no gap year between the completion of SPM or O-Level and the start of the IMU study.
- The scholarship will only be awarded based on actual SPM or O-Level results, not predicted results.
- Eligible candidates must pay the Semester 1 fee to register for the course and qualify for the scholarship.
Important: The International Medical University Scholarships are not disbursed automatically and are subject to the approval of the Scholarship Selection Committee based on the actual SPM or O-Level results and achievements of the candidates in ECA. An interview is not required.
The IMU Scholarship Committee may vary the selection requirements when necessary.
Undergraduate Scholarships:
- The scholarships will receive the link subject to the program awarded.
- All scholarships will only cover tuition fees and will not take into account living expenses, books, and equipment related to the study.
- The amount will be disbursed semester by semester.
- Students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.50 per semester to continue with the International Medical University Scholarships. Failing that, the scholarship may be discontinued immediately effect.
- Students who withdraw (for academic and non-academic reasons) without completing the program will be required to return the amount that has been disbursed for the economic prize awarded.
- Repeat modules will not be covered and the financial award will continue on a case-by-case basis.
- The IMU Scholarship Committee may vary the selection requirements when necessary.

Malaysian and international students are eligible to apply for the International Medical University Scholarships.
University admission requirement
Entry Requirements: Scholarships are only open to all local and international students who have completed SPM or O-Level qualification immediately the previous year before admission to IMU.
English language requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often have to meet specific English/other language requirements to study there.
Application Process for International Medical University Scholarships
Download the application form below and email the completed form with the required documents to admissions-at-imu.edu.my.
Scholarship applications can only be made after applying for the FiS program. Eligible candidates will be invited by email to apply for a scholarship.
The documents required for the presentation are:
- SPM or O-Level results;
- Laporan Ko-Kurikulum with GPA score or grade (applicable to Malaysians only);
- A personal statement with at least 100 words.
These documents must be submitted to the Admissions Department 7 business days after closing (1 week after the start date). The value of the scholarship will be deducted from Semester 2 fees if the applicant is awarded a scholarship.
