After St. John foundation founder over the centuries the pattern of studies and undergraduate life has changed with the times. Originally, the foundation focus on the liberal arts, theology and biblical languages. They also became a centre for mathematics and focus on training on the mind in classics. After several years of reaching out and helping students who cannot afford their financial needs specially entering their college, masters and even PhD courses. The foundation created with several scholarships they offer. As per John Crook Foundation quoted , going to university is about more than getting a degree; it inspires them to pursue new avenues of intellectual inquiry and ignites a passion for subjects which they had never thought about studying before. The John Crook Scholarship offers students the opportunity to take this further by studying for a second, two-year degree at St John’s College, Cambridge. The John Crook Scholar will be admitted to St John’s College to study for either a second two-year Bachelor’s Degree as an affiliated student, for an MPhil or for the Degree of Master of Advanced Studies in mathematics or science.
Eligibility
In order to be qualified. The applicants have to:
- be the first generation in your family to go to University
- be a current student, or recent graduate, with an exceptional academic record, from an eligible UK university (the full list of eligible universities is on the website)
- be a British citizen
