Boston Merit-Based Scholarships
MCPHS hopes to enroll students who have outstanding abilities, educational promise, and a passion for health care. MCPHS recognizes that a college education is one of the most important investments a student will make in their lifetime.
To this end, the MCPHS Merit Award program helps make an MCPHS education available to qualified first-year applicants.
Each portion of this award will grant immunity to the MCPHS. This award is based on academics and equal test scores, and decisions are made without regard to financial need.
There is no separate application for these awards. Those who obtain these scholarships are awarded at the time of admission.
Additionally, these scholarships are renewable each year and remain for as long as applicants maintain full-time enrollment and a specialized qualification as required by the donor. These requirements vary by award.

Presidential Scholarship Award
- Amount per year: $16,000
- High school GPA of 3.6 or higher
- SAT score mark 1360 or higher or ACT composite of 31 or higher
Academic Achievement Award
- Amount per year: $13,000
- High School GPA of 3.4-3.59
- SAT score mark of 1250-1350 or ACT composite of 28-30
University Merit Award
- The College Merit Award is worth $10,000 annually and the requirement is a GPA of 3.2-3.39 for high school.
- SAT score mark of 1130-1240 or ACT composite of 25-27
MCPHS Special Recognition Scholarship
- Amount per year : $2,000–$10,000
This platform selects candidates who show academic promise, extracurricular involvement, and experience in the health field, either through volunteer work or employment.
Applicants who do not have United States citizenship or permanent residence in the United States are only eligible for this scholarship.

No. MCPHS Advantage Scholarships are awarded only to eligible students admitted to the online and on-campus master’s degree programs included in the MCPHS Advantage Scholarship program.
If I enroll in a master’s program included in the MCPHS Advantage Scholarship program and leave before completing the master’s program, can I convert the course credits I have completed into a certificate program and receive the certificate?
No. Credits earned with an MCPHS Advantage Scholarship can only be applied to one of the master’s degrees included in the MCPHS Advantage Scholarship program.
I am currently an MCPHS student enrolled in a “dual degree” program and one of the degrees I am studying for is a master’s program included in the MCPHS Advantage Scholarship program. Do I qualify for an MCPHS Advantage Scholarship for the master’s program in which I am currently enrolled?
No. To be eligible for an MCPHS Advantage Scholarship, you must have graduated from a full-time MCPHS degree program. Only courses required for a master’s program included in the MCPHS Advantage Scholarship program that is taken after you have graduated from a full-time MCPHS degree program may be covered by an MCPHS Advantage Scholarship.
