Commonwealth Scholarships have Fully Funded Scholarships for students within the  Commonwealth Countries/Regions. The scholarships invite students to apply for the New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships for Master and Ph.D., 2023.

The UK Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) administers Britain’s contribution to the CSFP.

The CSC supports about 700 awards a year. Awards are funded by the Department for International Development, the Department for Business, Innovation, and Skills, and the Scottish Government, along with UK universities. The CSC also nominates UK citizens for scholarships to study in other Commonwealth countries under the CSFP.

Scholarship Worth

New Zealand has world-class educational institutions that offer globally recognized qualifications. Successful applicants will have access to excellent academic knowledge in quality facilities.

The scholarships include financial support for tuition, living costs in New Zealand, and airfare. Students’ fellow students are eligible for a work visa which allows them to live and work in New Zealand for the duration of their fellow students’ study.

Eligibility for New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships 2023

Applicants must meet the following conditions to be eligible for a New Zealand Scholarship:

  • Being a member of a Commonwealth country
  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time you start your scholarship.
  • Be able to meet the immigration requirements for international student entry to New Zealand or the country in which you will be taking your scholarship (i.e. medical checks, police clearance/character checks, etc.)
  • Be academically and linguistically capable of obtaining a place offer for the proposed study program of the community college where you will carry out your scholarship.
  • Not have previously been terminated from a New Zealand government scholarship.
  • Look for a qualification that contributes to the sustainable development of your home country.
  • Commit to return to your country for at least 2 years at the end of your scholarship.

How to Apply for the New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships 2023

You can only apply using the New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarship Application as a hard copy. Please note that applicants cannot apply online. You must apply at your local nominating agency.

Award Provider: New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships are funded by the New Zealand Aid Program and administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).
