The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is pleased to announce the availability of NITDA’s Masters and Ph.D. programs. Information technology scholarships for Nigerians to study in Nigeria and abroad.

About the scholarship scheme

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is mandated to develop and regulate Information Technology in Nigeria. IT development and regulation will help transform Nigeria into an IT-driven economy for global competitiveness and the dire need for digital literacy.

Since 2010, the Agency has established a scholarship scheme for master’s and doctoral degrees in relevant areas of information technology (IT) and ICT law that can be obtained at Nigerian universities (government and private).

The NITDA Masters and Ph.D. Scholarships will be for students pursuing Masters and Ph.D. programs.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the NITDA Information Technology Masters and Doctoral Scholarships, you must meet the following conditions:

  • Doctor of Philosophy:  Only university and polytechnic professors with masters of science in any field related to information technology are eligible to apply for sponsorship.
  • M.Sc: Holders of a first-class or second-class (higher) honors bachelor’s degree, in information technology-related field and law.

How to Apply for the NITDA Masters and Ph.D. Scholarships:

  • The application is based online through the registration form on the NITDA website.
  • Scan and attach your passport photo (must be in jpg format) which must not be larger than 50kb.
  • It will convert your certificate to a PDF file which should not be larger than 100kb.

TwinStar Community Foundation Scholarship for High School Students in the USA

Very good graduates with a first university degree have the opportunity to obtain a master’s degree in disciplines that are of special importance for the social, political, and economic development of their country of origin.

The knowledge and experience gained in Germany should enable the fellows to later contribute to the establishment of democratically oriented economic and social systems aimed at overcoming social differences.

Furthermore, training at German higher education institutions should enable fellows to become partners in political and economic cooperation with Germany.

DAAD Helmut-Schmidt Scholarship Selection Criteria:

The main DAAD selection criteria are the following:

  • study results so far
  • knowledge of English (and german)
  • political and social commitment
  • Convincing description of the related topic and
  • Personal motivation for the study project in Germany and the expected benefit of returning to the country of origin.
  • The last university degree should have been obtained during the six years prior to the application for the scholarship.
  • Applicants cannot be considered if they have stayed in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application.

All Master’s courses have additional requirements that must be met by applicants in any case.

DAAD Helmut-Schmidt Scholarship Benefits: 

  • Prior to their study programs, all fellows receive a 6-month German course from April 2021 to September 2021. The language courses take place at selected institutes in Germany and not at the universities of the master’s courses. selected.
  • The language course is compulsory also for those attending a master’s course taught in English. Fellows are offered special tutoring at their host institutions financed by the DAAD.
