Scholarship details
National Radio Astronomy Observatory is announcing Jansky Fellowship Program to support outstanding postdoctoral scientists whose research is broadly related to the mission and scientific goals of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO). International students are eligible to apply for this fellowship program. The NRAO Jansky Fellowship Program provides numerous opportunities for early career scientists to acquire a deep knowledge and understanding of the state-of-the-art in radio astronomy and to establish themselves as innovative, independent research scientists.
The NRAO collaborates with the university astronomy community to develop new instrumentation and technology and helps train the next generation of scientists through its student, co-op, postdoctoral, and Fellowship programs. A new data management system will soon improve every astronomer’s access to NRAO data products for research and education. Number of scholarships that will be awarded this year is unknown and it is based on the results of the applicants. All of the international students are available to apply for this scholarship.
The deadline for 2018 Jansky Fellowship Program application materials, including letters of reference, is Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Award offers will be made starting in early January 2018. Fellowships normally begin in September 2018.
