The University of Ottawa takes great pleasure in announcing its International Scholarships designed for individuals aiming to study in Canada. These scholarships are intended for international students pursuing both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
In particular, the College of Engineering is excited to offer up to 60 scholarships that support international activities endorsed by the university. These activities could include internships or visiting periods at foreign companies, universities, and institutions. The allocation of these scholarships will be based on a competitive evaluation process.

The scholarship can be taken in Canada.
Scholarship Benefits:
The value of each scholarship will be up to $6,000, with the exact amount depending on the importance and needs of the proposed activities.
Eligibility Requirements:
The applicant must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the University of Ottawa International Scholarships :
- Full-time College of Engineering undergraduate or graduate students may apply.
- Students in their first eight months as college students or in their final enrollment period (at any level) are not eligible.
- Thesis-based graduate students need to get approval from their thesis supervisors before applying.
- Students can only get one IES scholarship (for life).
- Some short-term events (eg summer schools) lasting less than a month may also be considered in exceptional circumstances.
English language requirements: Students must demonstrate that they have a good level of comprehension of written and oral English.
How to Apply for University of Ottawa International Scholarships
Please read the rules carefully to make sure you are eligible to apply. We recommend that you check the form ahead of time in case a reference or approval is required to support your application and familiarize yourself with the form.
All applications, including a completed and signed application form, CV, transcript, and letter from a representative of the proposed destination, must be sent to Engineering.international-at-uOttawa.ca.

Evaluation criteria
The relevance of the proposed activity as a significant international experience for the student. Supervision, budget and other considerations.
Evaluation procedure
The International Office of the Faculty of Engineering will be responsible for collecting the applications, preparing the documents for the evaluation committee, announcing the results to the candidates and following up on each funded activity.
Vice-Dean International will take the lead in obtaining funds for the scholarship and in organizing and chairing the scholarship evaluation committee. The evaluation committee will comprise: International Vice Dean (Chair) and two Faculty professors from 3 different academic units. The Dean and the International Vice-Dean will select the two professors jointly.

Students who obtain the IES scholarship must provide the following documents no later than two weeks after their return to Canada:
- Boarding passes (or equivalent documents)
- A letter from the foreign institution (or foreign supervisor, etc.) proving participation in the planned activities or some equivalent document.
Students who do not provide such documents must refund the amount of the IES scholarship, which will be charged to their student account.
