Scholarship details
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program instituted at Sciences Po is aimed at supporting 120 talented African students during the period of their studies and to provide the next generation of leaders a world-class social science education, such that they can proceed to become changemakers in their home countries.
The scholarship for the 2020/2021 academic year is offered in collaboration with a group of partner institutions that are authorized to nominate candidates.
Throughout continental Europe, Sciences Po is the first university to be a part of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. Part of this international network includes 27 prestigious institutions in America, Africa, and Europe, each ensuring that every young person, regardless of their background, has the same opportunity to access quality education and fulfill their potential.

Eligibility:
This grant for school is awarded to students from countries in the sub-Saharan region who possess an outstanding academic record and impressive leadership potentials but have financial and other types of challenges which may act as a barrier to higher education.

120 awards for a five year period
Value of the award:
This grant for school will cover the full cost of tuition at Sciences Po as well as student’s living costs while they are studying in France.
Aside from funding their studies, Sciences Po will also be responsible for offering scholars a specific suite of resources so as to ensure they have
appropriate academic support and to allow easy transition from education to employment.
Duration of program:
This grant for school is offered for a period of three years for a Bachelor’s degree, two years for a Master’s degree, and one month for Summer School
