Scholarship details
The Love for Running Scholarship is a scholarship fund that was created by the family of the late Sean Patrick French. Following his tragic last January 1, 2002 due to vehicular accident.
Sean was a popular student at Chatham High School where he was a junior high school student at the time of his death. He was also an honor student with an impressive record-setting runner.
This scholarship fund, in addition to the many scholarships for Chatham High School seniors, supports Cross Country Runners who were selected as the Good Sports Award Winners by Section II coaches. The love of Running scholarships is awarded to residents of Columbia Country, who also participated in two years of Cross Country or Track and Field.
The scholarship winner amongst all the student applicants will be selected by a five-person Advisory Committee convened by the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation. The winner will be announced in February the next year.
The applicant must express and demonstrate compassion and sensitivity to people from all walks of life. He/she should have a pleasing personality and a passion to be of service to his community.
