Russian education is known for its centuries-old history and classical traditions, a strong scientific foundation, and a high level of education. The long-standing experience of a classical education is closely linked here with modern technology, comfortable campuses, and technological laboratories.

Today more than ever it is easier for future foreign students to receive higher education at a Russian university: both on a commercial level and through a state scholarship. State programs for the support and adaptation of future foreign students are constantly developing: scholarship places are allocated annually, and new forms of financing, international aid, and scholarships are created.

In Russia, deep and fundamental knowledge can be obtained in all areas of study, however, above all the country is known for its strong scientific schools in the field of Physics, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences. Russia is a recognized leader in the training of mathematicians, physicists, chemists, geologists, engineers, programmers, doctors, and specialists in other areas of natural sciences.

Russia is one of the few countries that offers foreigners the opportunity to study for free. Every year the Russian Government allocates a few thousand government-funded places in Russian higher education institutions for foreign citizens (15,000 places were allocated in 2020).

In addition, certain categories of foreigners, including fellow citizens, will be able to enroll in non-quota government-funded places on an equal footing with Russians.

One more possibility will be to participate in university academic competitions, the winners and medalists of which will get advantages and privileges for admission to leading Russian higher education institutions.

Possibility to study Russian About 260 million people around the world speak Russian and about 10.5 million foreigners constantly study it. Higher education institutions offer different programs for learning Russian: courses, summer schools, and distance studies.

For foreigners within the framework of the preparatory faculty a one-year course of study of the Russian language is provided; for students who have enrolled by quotas (government scholarships), it is free.
