The Royal Geographical Society is the United Kingdom’s leader in advancing geography in the country supporting practitioners and professionals.They serves as a charity institution that serves their growing group, a public and professionals audiences as well as their 16,500 audiences.Their strategic plan is aims to provide clear statement of where the society is heading and its priorities in terms of action. As part of their charity works, Royal Geographical Society has been collaborated with Fellows Paul and Mary Slawson offering a three scholarship programs to create a huge improvements to the best candidates. The Slawson award is to intend to help students to undertake their PhD courses and research. The award will include the accommodation and local costs and assistance of their travel. Candidates must have finished a master’s degree. This is open to all students around the world but preference will be given to the United Kingdom’s citizens. Applicants must be a member of the ordinary society, post graduate fellows and fellows. The awards support for geography related fieldwork which involves issues of high social and economic value, also include projects in a related disciplines such as anthropology, sociology and development economics. The fieldwork study must be in developing countries like Asia.
The successful candidate will grant a $ 3,500 scholarship for a Phd Students to undertake fieldwork. These includes assistance of travel, accommodation and local costs.
