Scholarship details
The Asian Development Bank/Japan Scholarship program (JSP) offers about 150 postgraduate scholarships annually to well-qualified citizens of ADB’S (Asian Development Bank’s) developing members for degree programs in Economics, Management, Science and Technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions. Participating academic institutions are located in 10 countries within the Region.
What is offered by the scholarship providers? The scholarship covers full tuition expenses, living allowances which is given monthly, extra funds are also given for housing, text books, and instructional materials. Health insurance and travel fees are covered by the Asian Development Bank/Japan Scholarship program too. For scholars engaged in research, a special student grant may be available for thesis preparation. In exceptional situations, computer literacy, preparatory language, and other similar courses may be covered under the scholarship.
The Asian Development Bank/Japan Scholarship program is open to candidates who have received admission to an approved Masters or Ph.D. course at a participating academic institution. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree and must be 35 years of age or less. Plus, they need to be in good health and are academically outstanding. Upon finishing their degree programs, scholars are expected to return to their native country to contribute to tit’s development; economically and socially.
The Asian Development Bank/Japan Scholarship providers will screen and select candidates based on their own criteria which are listed on their scholarship website.
The application deadline for this scholarship program is November 2017.
