All qualified ROTC scholarship applicants may apply for consideration for a 4-year Minuteman Scholarship.

Each Army Reserve Major Subordinate Command (MSC) may award four Minuteman Scholarships per year. Minuteman Scholarships cover four years of tuition and full fees or $10,000 for room and board at colleges and universities served by an Army ROTC program.

What You Need To Know About The Minuteman Scholarship

The Minuteman Scholarship covers full tuition and fees at any school or college that is attended with an Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) program or can be used for housing, estimated at $10,000 each year.

Scholarship recipients also receive an annual book allowance of $1,200 plus a monthly stipend of $300 to $500 while in college, depending on their year in the ROTC program.

In addition, Minuteman Scholarship recipients are required to participate in the Concurrent Membership Program (SMP), where they participate in an annual Army Reserve unit exercise plus annual 14-day training and are compensated as sergeants.

  • Be between 17 and 31 years old. Body valid MEPS.
  • Currently in the Army Reserve or qualified to enlist.
  • Ability to maneuver APFT.
  • Meets AR 600-9 standards.
  • Pass the interview to the MSC commander.
  • Professor of Validation of Military Sciences.
  • Acceptance of correspondence to teachers.
  • Evidence of academic importance.
  • Evidence of ACT or SAT scores.
  • Enroll in ROTC.
