Scholarship details
The American University of Kuwait is not a public research institution, however, this university is a private research institution. This excellent liberal arts college allows students to explore the humanities and artistic side of Kuwait. Many students may not know that Kuwait has such a rich history when it comes to the arts.
The AUK has partnered with the PUC (private universities council) which looks for students that are from Kuwait or have family from Kuwait to apply for this scholarship.
Students were able to fully attend in 2004, even those the real established date was 2003. This college does have a sister or twin colleges such as Dartmouth College.

Eligibility
- The PUC has many rules that students will need to follow thoroughly
- Students must maintain a full-time student status
- Students can’t change their assigned scholarship major without the approval of the university and the Private Universities Council
- Students can take a leave of absence but only after signing up and already taking classes
Requirements
The requirements for this scholarship is that the student must first apply to attend AUK. If the student does not, they will not be asked to apply for the scholarship. Only certain students will be considered eligible for this scholarship, at least with a grade point average of 3.75 or higher. The higher the grade point average the better the chance the student has to receive this scholarship.
How to Apply
The best way to apply is by sending an admissions application to attend as a full-time student at the American University of Kuwait. This scholarships is specifically only awarded to new students, or new undergraduates.

The reward for this scholarship is to go towards tuition fees and book allowance. The award cannot go towards anything else.

Deadline Time Line
The deadline time line is the same as the application process to attend the university. The official date is October 31, 2023.
This is the current deadline date, however, things can happen to delay or change the official date. All students interested and attending should keep an eye on any college newsletters and university emails they receive that could contact deadline information.
Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open submission window time frame is the same as the application process to attend the university. The open submission window time frame aspect is at least 3 months before October 31, 2023 which is the official deadline date that is stated.
It is not stated whether or not the student can extended their deadline date, but all students that are interested in doing so should contact the admissions office first to see if that is possible.
Annual or Renewable Scholarship Options Available
This is an annual option for new students who are studying in Kuwait. This scholarship is in fact not renewable for any student. In fact, this scholarship will be immediately canceled and the student may have to pay a percentage back if they leave the university for good.
