The Lithuanian Government has recently announced that it is offering the Lithuanian State Scholarships for the academic year 2023-24. Eligibility
Before proceeding with the application, the students must meet the eligibility requirements of the program.
- Citizens of Belarus must possess a valid residence permit in Lithuania.
- Interested applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree by the end of the 2022/2023 academic year or be a 4th-year student in an integrated study program that lasts six years or a 3rd-year student in an integrated study program that lasts five years at a Lithuanian higher education institution.
- For integrated studies, the applicants must have an official confirmation letter issued by a Lithuanian higher education institution certifying that they are studying an integrated study program and indicating the year of studies.
- The applicants must be holding an acceptance letter or pre-acceptance for a full-time master’s degree studies from any of the Lithuanian higher education institutions.
- The applicants must have good communication skills in English, Lithuanian, or other languages in which the program will be conducted. A minimum of B2 level will be accepted.
- The state scholarship is a one-time grant.
- If the applicants have received funding from this scholarship before, they are not eligible.
- For the candidates who are in an international joint degree program with a mandatory mobility period in their home country, funding is only available for the portion of studies held in Lithuanian higher education institutions.
- Applicants who have already received a Master’s degree, cannot receive the state scholarship.
Application Process
The applicants can start their application in an online portal system provided by the Government of Lithuania. The application can be completed in English or Lithuania language. The application must be completed providing the personal and contact information of the applicants.
- To be admitted to a Master’s degree program, a candidate is required to present a document that verifies their completion of education at a higher education institution.
- The candidate must submit either a diploma and its supplement or a transcript of records as proof of completion of education at a higher education institution.
- The academic grades of the candidate will be evaluated by the Lithuanian higher education institution.
- The results of the assessment, along with any additional required information, will be provided by the institution to the Education Exchanges Support Foundation.
Required Materials
As part of the application, the students must be able to submit the following:
- A signed declaration of honors
- Language requirements
- Letter of Motivation -describing the achievements and experience in the chosen program in Lithuania, explaining the reason for choosing the study program, and why are you suitable to be one of the successful students in this award.
- Recommendation letter
Scholarship Awards
A monthly study cost will be awarded to the successful students in a total of 100 students in the listed eligible countries.
