What visa do you need to study in Italy?

If the duration of your trip to study in Italy is less than 90 days, you only have to present your current Mexican passport. If you plan to take a longer course, you must apply for a Schengen student visa. 

You must fill out a form through the official website of the Italian consulate with a letter of acceptance from the educational institution, and prove that you have sufficient financial means to reside and support yourself throughout the duration of your course.

What are the types of scholarships to study in Italy?

There is a wide variety of scholarships offered by both the Mexican government through CONACYT and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Programs include study in Italian, as well as undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in a wide variety of fields of study. 

The purpose of these programs is to encourage cooperation between the two countries with an emphasis on promoting technological, scientific and cultural development. There are also other types of scholarships sponsored directly by Italian universities such as the Politecnico di Torino scholarship program, the EDISU Piemonte scholarships, and the University of Pavia and La Sapienza scholarships, to name a few of the most popular. It’s just a matter of identifying the program that suits you best and preparing yourself as well as possible for the application.

The Student Grant

The University of Calabria scholarships are for NON-EU international students to second cycle international degree courses (two-year masters) for the academic year 2022/2023. The University of Calabria also awards 120 scholarships that include the registration package, maintenance, accommodation, and subsidy. The University of Calabria offers an advantageous worldwide enrollment package to those students who are not eligible for a scholarship, as mentioned in Annex A.

WHAT IS SINGLE ADMISSION?
UnicalAdmission is a public selection process for the early admission of non-EU students to Italian language courses with places reserved for international students: first-cycle degree courses (three years of bachelor’s degree), second-cycle one-level degree courses (five years master’s degree) and second-cycle degree courses (five-year master’s degree) Degree Cycles (two-year master’s degree).

For the academic year 2022-2023, the University of Calabria will award 120 scholarships to foreign students enrolled in 10 International Masters, taught in English.

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
All NON-EU students who have a degree obtained at a University abroad, valid to access International Master’s Courses in Italy, can participate. Students who will obtain their qualification during the 2021/2022 ay can provisionally participate in the competition. Failure to obtain your degree will result in the loss of the right to enroll.
Non-EU students must request pre-registration according to the schedule of admission procedures at Universities for 2022/2023, published on the website http://www.universitaly.it. The pre-registration request is provisionally accepted by the Italian diplomatic missions if the student is in the last year of the University and is about to take the final graduation exam.

The scholarship includes tuition fees, the winners will also benefit from free services, such as registration package, food, accommodation, and an allowance of €2,500.00.

WINNING APPLICANTS WILL RECEIVE THE SCHOLARSHIP AS FOLLOWS:

b. The scholarship will be renewed for the second year only if the winning candidates obtain at least 30 credits (CFU) within October 2023.
c. For the third year, the scholarship will be renewed only to benefit from free room and board services for the first semester and only free room service for the second semester, only if the winning candidates obtain at least 75 credits (CFU) within October 2024.
