Eligible Applicants
The eligible applicants are non-EU/EEA students who apply for one of the international bachelor’s or master’s programs at the University of Oulu. The applicants must have a high level of English proficiency, as evidenced by a TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent test score. The applicants must also have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification for master’s programs or an upper secondary or equivalent qualification for bachelor’s programs. The applicants must have a solid academic record and potential, as shown by their transcripts and other supporting documents.

Scholarship Worth
The scholarship worth depends on the program in question. The scholarships partially or fully cover the tuition fees and include a relocation grant of 5,000 euros. The tuition fees range from 10,000 to 13,000 euros per academic year for master’s programs and from 6,000 to 8,000 euros per year for bachelor’s programs. The scholarships are renewable for the second year of study if the student meets the educational requirements.
Level and Field of Study
The level of study is a bachelor’s or master’s degree, and the field of study is one of the eight international bachelor’s or 21 international master’s programs offered by the University of Oulu. The programs cover various disciplines, such as architecture, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, business analytics, computer science and engineering, digitalization, economics, education, electronics, environmental engineering, epidemiology, finance, international business management, learning, and more. The programs are taught in English and have a duration of two years for master’s programs and three or five years for bachelor’s programs.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria are as follows:
- The applicants must be non-EU/EEA students who apply for one of the international bachelor’s or master’s programmes at the University of Oulu.
- The applicants must have a high level of English proficiency, as evidenced by a TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent test score.
- The applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification for master’s programmes, or an upper secondary degree or equivalent qualification for bachelor’s programmes.
- The applicants must have a strong academic record and potential, as shown by their transcripts and other supporting documents.
- The applicants must have a clear and realistic study plan and career goals, as demonstrated by their motivation letter and their CV.
Scholarship Deadline
Applications open on 3 January 2024.
There is no separate application system for the International Scholarship. Applications for the International Scholarship are submitted with the application for the preferred study option in the Studyinfo portal. The application period for the University of Oulu International Master’s Scholarships is 3 January – 17 January 2023 (15.00 GMT +2).
