USTC Scholarships for International Students is open to all international students studying at the University of Science and Technology of China. UST China scholarships are available to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
The University of Science and Technology of China is a national research university in Hefei, Anhui, China, under the direct leadership of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is a member of the C9 League made up of nine top universities in China.

Scholarships are available to pursue undergraduate and graduate programs. Scholarships are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.
Host Nationality:

Scholarship Eligibility:
Applicants for the A USTC Scholarship must:
- Be a non-Chinese citizen;
- Do not be awarded a Chinese Government Scholarship;
- Applicants for Bachelor studies must have a high school diploma, HSK5, and be under 30 years of age;
- Applicants for master’s studies must have a bachelor’s degree (equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in China) and be under the age of 35;
- Applicants for doctoral studies must have a master’s degree (equivalent to a master’s degree in China) and be under the age of 40.
Applicants for the USTC B Scholarship must:
- Be a non-Chinese citizen;
- Be exchange students from universities associated with the USTC;
Application procedure:
Step 1: Download USTC Scholarship Application Form (right-click and save the attachment)
Graduate applicants are encouraged to contact prospective proctors prior to application and submit Provisional International Student Acceptance by USTC Professor (right-click and save attachment) to the Cooperative Office USTC International along with other documents.
Step 2: Online Application for USTC Scholarship
Online application programs include filling in the application form and uploading supporting documentation.
- Create your Application ID online with a valid email account and enter your own password. You will receive a confirmation email. The reference number must be provided in inquiries related to your application at all times.
- Log in to your Application ID, fill out all the information and upload the required documents. The online application can be accessed and edited as many times as you like before the application deadline. Your information will be automatically saved once you click “NEXT” at the end of each step.
- Submit your application form by clicking “Confirm and Submit” at the end. Please note that once your application passes “file review,” your information CANNOT be changed.
- You can click “Status” on the quick links to check the status of your application.
Step 3: Applicants must send the application materials to the International Office
USTC Cooperation by mail or in person (application materials sent by email will not be accepted). Application materials for the spring semester arriving after September 1 will not be accepted; Application materials for the fall semester arriving after May 30 will not be accepted.
Required Application Materials
Required application materials include:
- USTC Scholarship Application Form (right click and save attachment)
- USTC Professor Acceptance Letter (Not for Undergraduates)
- Two letters of recommendation were provided by teachers from the applicant’s last school.
- Photocopy of passport (ordinary passport).
- Notarized photocopy of the higher degree certificate and academic record.
- Photocopy of the Physical Examination Form for Foreigners (download in the attached file)
- Proof of knowledge of English and/or Chinese.
