Scholarship details
The VFW or Veterans of Foreign Wars is pleased to announce that the VFW “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” is now open for applications. The scholarship was made in partnership of the Student Veterans of America and Sport Clips Haircuts to assist service members and veterans by providing financial provisions needed to complete their educational goals. The scholarship is a way to give back to the veteran community for the group’s selfless services to the country.
The scholarship amounts to $5000, open and limited to one per family in each semester. There will be different deadlines for the scholarship depending on the different semesters that the scholarship may be applied for. Scholarships must be applied by the end of the semester or else the award will be voided.
Applicants must be a US citizen, be a retired, honorably discharged, in active duty, or a member of the National Guard. The applicant must also have complete basic training and follow-on training. The applicant must also be in need of financial assistance while currently or separated with a military rank of E-5 or below.
