The Ronald and Eileen Weiser Centre for Europe and Eurasia at the University of Michigan is inviting applications for the Weiser Professional Development Awards. Under the Fellowship, successful candidates will be able to visit the University of Michigan for four weeks or three months. The Fellowship will award successful candidates with an allowance which will cover for their housing, round-trip airfare, health insurance as well as account for a modest daily sum.
Schedules may be listed throughout February, March, April, September, October or November 2018 only and successful candidates will be cherry-picked after a competitive review of proposals at the University of Michigan. Overall, the Weiser Centre will select between five and seven awardees.
Eligibility wise, awardees will be faculty and artists teaching at institutions of higher education in a number of countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, among others.
In addition, candidates must be actively involved in teaching and must have a terminal degree, either their doctoral diploma or highest professional degree at the time of application.
Good English competence is required and candidates are expected to communicate easily across all fields of language, including speaking, reading, and writing. Applicants who have sat a TOEFL exam in the last three years may attach a copy of their score report to their application.
