Eligibility
- The students who will be chosen for this scholarship waiver will need to have become a student after April 2020.
- Applicants will have to be privately financed international students only.
- Admissions requirements differs based on which program the student will be pursuing because the College of Education, College of Economics, College of Business Administration, College of Urban Sciences, College of International Social Sciences, College of Engineering Science, etc. Each ‘college of’ has a separate eligibility website as a resource for students to follow the guide and outline of each aspect that is needed as in, important documents needed from the student to be admitted.
- Students that are deemed exceptional academic, can receive up to a total of 100%, 50%, or 30% exemption from tuition fees.
- This opportunity is purely based on academic merit. Any student that is below the academic expectation for this scholarship is not deemed eligible.
Requirements
The main requirement is that the student must be attending Yokohama National University as a currently enrolled student. That student must have received or be receiving privately financed options.
How to Apply
The only way to apply is for students to apply for admissions to go to Yokohama. Then the student is screened for academic performance which this scholarship waiver is based on. Afterwards, all student application forms must be sent to the relevant college or graduate school. They will receive notification of the outcome along with the announcement of entrance examination results.
This waiver is for two semesters, or a full attached academic year. This waiver can not be split up to be used in a different academic year.

Deadline Time Line
The official deadline date for the Yokohama National University is listed as January 31, 2024. For the 2024 academic year this deadline has not been extended for a further or later date. However, there is always the possibility for a student to ask the university admission department if it’s possible to receive a deadline extension.
