This Erasmus Mundus scholarship is heavily funded by the EU Commission, dedicated to the most qualified students who meet the criteria set by the consortium. The scholarship not only covers tuition fees and insurance but also contributes to accommodation, visa, and travel expenses. Students with and without EU citizenship are eligible to apply. Depending on the student’s status, a fee of €8,000 plus a monthly stipend of €1,000 may apply, if students are non-EU citizens and have not worked/studied in the EU for a total of 12 months in the last 5 years. EU citizens can receive a monthly grant of €500 for a total duration of 24 months.
Ford Foundation Scholarships
The Ford Foundation Scholarship is a fully funded scholarship that provides financial assistance to students of all ages for a maximum period of three full years. Fellows are selected from countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Russia, where the Ford Foundation maintains active programs abroad. Scholars are chosen based on their leadership skills and commitment and also based on their academic performance. Students with a focused interest in democratic values, poverty reduction, fighting injustice, and promoting international development are especially encouraged to apply. The Ford Foundation Scholarship covers up to $25,000 maximum per academic year.
Santander Human Rights Scholarships
The Santander Human Rights Scholarship Promotion Grant is worth £10,000 taking care of tuition fees and other costs related to the LLM in International Human Rights Law at the University of Oxford. Preference is given to candidates who habitually reside in one of the Santander Network countries, that is, Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Chile, China, Colombia, Germany, Ghana, Korea, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Uruguay, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States. Students are awarded based on their academic excellence, they must demonstrate exceptional academic merit and proof of commitment to the promotion of human rights.
Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) – Scholarship
The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Scholarship Program provides international students studying in Germany with scholarships of 4 to 7 months. Up to 40 students from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe can qualify for the scholarship program each year. Foreign scholarship holders can receive €650 to € 1000 per month depending on their current academic level. Healthcare costs will also be covered. Students who plan to work during their students cannot earn more than €400 per month or the additional income will be credited against the scholarship. When choosing the right candidates, FES takes into account not only their qualification but also their social and political involvement. Students are expected to live in Germany before applying and have to provide proof of an adequate command of the German language by submitting a certificate of language proficiency (C 1, TestDAF).
Master of Arts in Human Rights at Central European University
The Central European University CEU offers opportunities for four different types of scholarships for its Master’s program in Human Rights. Students are required to demonstrate proficiency in English. Brunsfield Oxford ASEAN Human Rights Scholarship
The Brunsfield Oxford ASEAN Scholarship is specifically designed for three students from ASEAN countries to study for an LLM in International Human Rights Law at the University of Oxford.
